Title Rematch Signed for AWL 313

At the Golden War, the Augments’ Golden Quadrangle was broken and reduced to a Golden Triangle.  However, Dr. Jigoku has made the AWL Commissioner an offer he cannot refuse.

Azteckaizer NEO (C) vs. X-Drone
AWL Intercontinental Championship Match
1st Title Defense
By order of Dr. Jigoku, if the X-Drone does not win the title, it will be banished from the AWL forever.

I can’t say I’m surprised.  Jigoku has never shown any hesitation in throwing away toys that no longer interest him.  He’s serious about acquiring all of the championships if he’s willing to be this public about it.

Full Card Announced

The AWL Commissioner has announced the full card for AWL 169.
AWL 169:
Main Event
BATSU MATCH!
Bullet Club vs. Ganba, Ma-Ji-Ku, & HAKAISHA!
Elimination Trios Match
There MUST be a winner!
For all the gory details regarding this match, please refer to the AWL Commissioner's Weekly Address posted earlier this week.

Wyvern vs. Breaker
Non-Title Match
While I'm not sure of the details (nor are they any of my business) I have learned that Dragon will not be at the AWL Arena this weekend. For the first time, Wyvern will be without the coaching services of his trainer. However, he will not be alone. To counter the inevitable presence of Dr. Jigoku, Wyvern will be seconded by the man who was his tag team partner last week: Matt Classic Jr.!

The All Americans (2) vs. Los Neko Grande (0)
Points in Play
The rivalry between the cats and the Americans continues after Prince Puma's loss to Hassan in the IC Title Match last week and the disputed call in their tag team match two weeks ago. Hopefully, this match will settle things once and for all.

Jack Butcher vs. ウサギKick
Speaking of ongoing feuds and rivalries, the Augments continue their feud with the large slab of Australian crazy known as Jack Butcher. This time Dr. Jigoku has chosen to send his evil cyborg clone bunny man (I love wrestling) into battle against the Man from the Outback. Speed vs. Power. Slams vs. Kicks. Man vs. Clone Cyborg Bunny Man. (Seriously, I love wrestling!)

千葉赤城 (#4) vs. Jon Shina
Submission Exhibition
Even after his upset win in the 6-Man Scramble Match that netted him the #4 contendership, Chiba Akagi has no intention of stopping his Submission Exhibition Series. This week he takes on the self proclaimed "United States of Awesome Mega Champion." But with Chiba Akagi's induction into the Best 4, the stakes of these matches have be raised considerably. Remember, in the AWL it is not acceptable for top contenders to lose matches. As the lowest ranked wrestler in the AWL Best for, any singles loss for Chiba Akagi will cause him to be ousted from the Best 4. In other words, make him tap, write your ticket!

It will be an action packed event. I hope you will make plans to join us for AWL 169 this Sunday Morning (Japan Time, please adjust for your time zone).

This is getting old.

I am getting really sick of starting off so many of these blog posts with "Here's my attempt to make sense of the chaos last weekend."

OK, last weekend at AWL 137 we were unable to present the advertised main event because the World Champion HAKAISHA was attacked backstage by Crisis Gundan and was unable to fight. Under AWL Rules, this would normally result in a forfit and HAKAISHA would lose the title. Lucky for him, as soon as the security camera footage of the attack became published, Ganba (The #1 Contender) refused the match himself. Therefore the match is offically a Double Forfeit and a No Contest. HAKAISHA is still champion and Ganba is still #1 Contender.

This weekend that match WILL take place. By order of the AWL Commissioner, anyone who interferes in that match before or during the contest will be fired. No excuses.
AWL 138 Main Event
HAKAISHA (C) vs. Ganba (#1)
AWL World Heavyweight Championship Match
5th Title Defense

As for Crisis Gundan. The AWL Commissioner has promised a special announcement regarding them tomorrow in his Weekly Address so stay tuned for that.

Lastly, I have some news regarding Batsumania. As of AWL 137, two wrestlers are mathematically locked in the Danger Zone. Meaning that there is not enough time between now and the season finale for them to win their way out of the zone. These two men WILL compete in Batsumania:

American Beetle
Jon Shina

Of interesting note, Jon Shina MUST win his first ever match in the AWL if he is to survive into Season 8. Things are looking good for American Beetle in that case. Also, the loss in the impromptu tag team match last weekend has pushed Tiger Mask II back down into the zone. He will have the chance to fight his way out this weekend at AWL 138.
