Contenders Wanted!
We’re
less than two weeks away from Golden War 2020 and we are looking for
challengers to the rest of the AWL championships. To that end:
K&K (2) vs.
The New Classics (2)
Points in Play
Winners to
challenge at Golden War 2020
We have
two teams with two points in the men’s tag team division that makes this a de
facto #1 contender’s match. On one side,
the most decorated tag team in AWL History.
On the other, a cheating knobhead and a REALLY tall guy. I think it’s obvious which team has a better
chance of beating The Augments and bringing the AWL World’s Tag Team
Championships back to the Animated Wrestling League.
Up
next, there are two titles in the Joshi Division and we’re looking for
challengers for both this weekend. One
we’re sure to get, the other is a bit more up in the air.
Athena Jane (#1)
vs. Akira Merune (#2) vs. Jessica Kidd (#3)
Reshuffle Match
Winner to
challenge at Golden War 2020
Yin & Yang (2)
vs. The Augments (0)
Points in Play
If Yin &
Yang win, they will challenge at Golden War 2020
It’s
not exactly news that Dr. Jigoku has been unhappy with the performance of his
Augments in the Joshi Division. If they
can’t pick up a point this weekend after being the first team eliminated from
the 4-Way Match last weekend, I wouldn’t expect to see them around again.
That’s
all for now. Stay tuned to this blog for
the rest of the weekend for more match announcements and all the news from the
Animated Wrestling League.

More Ranks on the Line!
Since
every match at AWL 306 revolves around the AWL Best 4, why not one more:
Wild Thing (#1)
vs. Nekomusume (#2) vs. ResuPINK (#3) vs. Athena Jane (#4)
Reshuffle Match
While
the AWL Commissioner has not made any announcement as to when the winner of
this match will challenge reigning AWL Joshi Champion Dragoness, but I can’t
imagine that title match would take place any later than Sakuramania
Wrestlegenesis.

Another #1 Contender to be Determined
We
already have the IC #1 Contender’s Match scheduled for two days from now at AWL

Reshuffle Match
Winner
challenges Azteckaizer NEO at AWL 303!
This
match will be the main event of AWL 302.
3 falls to a finish. The loser of
the 1st fall becomes #4, the loser of the 2nd fall
becomes #3, the loser of the final fall becomes #2, and the winner of the whole
darn thing becomes the #1 Contender.

2 Challenges, 4 Joshi, and a Pizza Place
Wow! That was an old reference. Well, lack of relevant material aside, I have
two AWL Wrestlers who have issued challenges for this weekend’s AWL 264. Please note that there will not be any actual
pizza.
First,
the new AWL Grand Champion:
Kid Canada:
Two weeks ago, I sent a message to the AWL roster to step up and make their own
fate and their own opportunities. One
man did that…and it didn’t exactly work, eh?
He ma have been the first man eliminated from the Contractual Obligation
Rumble, but Michael Dunne impressed me with his guts and he deserves a
reward. That’s why I’m challenging
“Australian Dynamite” to a match at AWL 264.
He deserves the TV time and a chance to show the world what he has
against the Most Canadian Champion in the World, eh?
Next, unfortunately, Frederick Victor:
Frederic Victor:
Greetings grapple fans, it is I! Your
British Openweight Champion, a title I acquired during the off season if you
were wondering. You may hold your
applause.
I come
before you today because I am intrigued by a new wrestler that has been making
waves in the Animated Wrestling League as of late: Shynron. Now, I will be the first to praise this young
lad’s acrobatic skill. He’s second to
none and any circus in the world would be wise to employ him at a significant
salary…but that’s not wrestling.
While
the AWL seems to have fallen in love with this sideshow, I am disgusted by his
lack of respect for the grappling arts.
He would have lasted a day in the Snake Pit training camps of yester
year and he won’t last 2 rounds with me.
I challenge
Shynron to 5 rounds under World of Sport Rules.
Let’s see if this “Spirit Dragon” can get down to earth and actually
wrestle.
Finally, the AWL Commissioner has
announced a match to determine the #1 contender for Akira Merune and the AWL
Joshi Championship at National Pro Wrestling Day.
Jackie M. vs. Joya vs. Athena Jane vs. Resu Pink
Reshuffle Match
We
expect further matches to be announced in the coming days.

AWL 257: A New Challenger(s) Approaches
Time got away from me this week. So, no news post. But the show is up on time and contains some great professional wrestling action. A reshuffle match in the Joshi singles division, the Joshi Tag Team Tournament enters the round of 4 (or is that 8?), and the little luchadore who could tries to secure his shot at AWL gold and vengeance for his idol. Lastly, a CHAOTIC tag team bout between Big Time Thug S and The Colony including the former and current AWL Grand Champions.

Full Card for AWL 244
MAIN EVENT

Atomicos Match
One the last episode of the Animated Wrestling League, we saw the rise of the Dorei Corps, Dr. Jigoku's army of brainwashed slaves that were formerly 4 of the greatest heroes in the history of the AWL. This week, four more techinicos will test their mettle, including the son of one of the Dorei.
CAREER THREATENING MATCH!
Matt Classic Jr. (OXX) vs. Project-Z
Test of 10 Match #9
Last season, the Innovator of Professional Wrestling, Matt Classic Jr., invoked the Test of Ten in order for the sins he feels he committed against his own team. Golden Opportunity vs. Matt Classic Jr.'s AWL Career. He only has ONE LIFE LEFT! If he can't beat the Modern Day Frankenstein, he will be GONE from the AWL forever.
Athena Jane (#1) vs. Joya (#2) vs. Jackie M. (#3) vs. Dragoness (#4)
Reshuffle Match
AWL Joshi Champion Akira Merune will defend her championship next week. But against who? We'll find out in this elimination 4-way match.
The New Classics (0) vs. The Leading Men (1)
Points in Play
The most decorated tag team in the AWL returns to the league and, as their first step back to the AWL World's Tag Team Titles, the fact probably...no...definitely the strangest tag team in the AWL today. Tommy Wiseau's Leading Men.
Project 鉄 (C) vs. Tiger Mask II
AWL Intercontinental Championship Match
1st Title Defense
The AWL Commissioner is NOT going to tolerate Dr. Jigoku's obvious plan. So, he's going to force the cyborg to face the best technicos the AWL has to offer. First up? The Golden Tiger.
