AWL Commissioner Rules on Reshuffle Match

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.
It has been a long time since I have needed to make a public statement regarding happenings in the Animated Wrestling League, so please forgive me if I seem somewhat out of practice at this.

Last weekend during episode 302 of The Animated Wrestling League, The Augments known as Project Tetsu and Jigoku DESTROY refused to continue a four way Reshuffle Match once they became the final two competitors.  As a result, Animated Wrestling League Senior Official Joey Babaganoush declared the match a no-contest.  As always, the referee’s decision is final and sacrosanct.  Senior Official Babaganoush was completely within his rights to make this most unusual call.  As a result, the two falls that did take place in the reshuffle match shall NOT be counted in the Animated Wrestling League Win-Loss Records.

However, while all action within the ring is the sole responsibility of the referee, responsibility for the Animated Wrestling League Best 4 Rankings lies solely with me.  ResuRED and Tiger Mask II did lose valid pinfalls and double teaming is legal in a Reshuffle Match.  Therefore, I see no reason not to alter the Best 4 Rankings to reflect those results.  The current Best 4 Rankings are as follows:

1. TBD
2. TBD
3. Tiger Mask II
4. ResuRED

As for the top two positions, there will be a match between the two Augments who refused to continue their match.  However, it shall not take place next weekend.  I’m instating a 1 week cooling off period.  Project Tetsu and Jigoku DESTROY are hereby suspended without pay until Animated Wrestling League Episode 304.  At which time the following match will take place:

Project Tetsu vs. Jigoku DESTROY
#1 Contender’s Match for the AWL Grand Championship
All Other Augments BARRED from Ringside.
If either competitor refuses to compete, BOTH will be immediately FIRED!

Do not push me Jigoku!  THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!

Commissioner Addresses the Fake Liger

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
I am the AWL Commissioner.  It is my sad duty to apologize to each and every fan of the Animated Wrestling League.  At the 2018 edition of the Golden War, we advertised a match between Ma-Ji-Ku and Jushin Thunder Liger.  The man who competed in the ring was NOT Jushin Thunder Liger, but a fraud with a similar body type and a good costume.
It is my preference to strike that match from the record books.  However, Ma-Ji-Ku has insisted that I not only allow the match result to stand, but that I offer the false Liger an Animated Wrestling League Contract!  While I cannot claim to read the mind of the Warrior of Light, I appreciate the desire to right a wrong in the crucible of combat.  Therefore, I am offering the man representing himself as “Jushin Thunder Liger” a position on the Animated Wrestling League Roster…at the LOWEST pay rate I have ever offered.  Seriously, the Young Dragons, Michael Dunne, and John Hero are all making more than this charlatan.
This weekend at AWL 235, in a rematch from the Golden War, this “Jushin Thunder Liger” will face a very angry Warrior of Light.
                THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Commissioner's Address on NPWD

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.  This weekend, we of the Animated Wrestling League shall once again make our way to the United States of America to participate in National Pro Wrestling Day.

The card for the Animated Wrestling League’s satellite show to Chikara’s main program shall consist of 4 matches.  After the events of last weekend’s AWL 224, we now know the main event:
HAKAISHA! (C) vs. Wyvern (#1)
AWL Grand Championship Match
2nd Title Defense

Furthermore, we shall demonstrate for the world the quality of the Animated Wrestling League’s Tag Team and Joshi Divisions.
Dragoness vs. KoroshiMACHINE

If Dragoness is victorious, she shall qualify for the Joshi Championship Ladder Match and join Athena Jane with the opportunity to become our first ever Joshi Champion.

Tiger Mask II & Okada Kazuchika (1) vs Yamada Jiro & X-drone (1)
Points in Play

Ever since last season, these two teams have had, shall we say, extraneous points on the board.  Placed together in improvised and unregistered tag teams during the fight against Global Wrestling Monopoly, they have simply sat around doing nothing.  This shall no longer stand!  One of these teams will be cleared from the board while the other shall take a further step towards the Animated Wrestling League’s World Tag Team Championship.

Lastly, the man who will be the #1 contender for the Animated Wrestling League Grand Championship at the conclusion of National Pro Wrestling Day, Azteckaizer NEO, shall be in action against another man with an immediate claim upon a championship match:

Azteckaizer NEO (#2) vs. THUGLIFE Tanaka Kenichi

                THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Championship Announced

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner,
Since making history seems to be the order of the week, we here at the Animated Wrestling League are getting in on the act.  First of all, congratulations to RyuSensei for getting his first professional wrestling podcast posted.  I fully endorse his use of the Animated Wrestling League’s blogspace to promote this new enterprise.
Now, the big announcement that I promised you last week.  I hereby COMMISSION a new championship to be acknowledged by the Animated Wrestling League and a division of wrestlers exclusive to that title.  For the first time in the history of the Animated Wrestling League we shall have
.
.
.
A women’s championship!

The Animated Wrestling League Joshi Division will launch THIS SATURDAY at AWL 223: Joshi no Hajime.  The first AWL Joshi Champion shall be chosen thusly:

The first three women to earn 3 victories in sanctioned Animated Wrestling League competition shall be entered into a four way LADDER MATCH to determine the first champion.  No, I did not miscount.  One wrestler has already qualified for the Joshi Championship Ladder Match.  That would be the first of several new signees to the Animated Wrestling League Roster, the final Global Wrestling Monopoly Diva’s Champion: Athena Jane!

THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate it when the boss gets cryptic.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.
The card for episode 222 of the Animated Wrestling League is coming together and shall be announced tomorrow.  However, it is another matter about which I wish to speak.
On Tuesday next, I shall make a special announcement that will change the very nature of the Animated Wrestling League forevermore.  But that is all that I shall say at this time.

On your marks...

I have waited a long time to say this.  Good evening ladies and gentlemen.  I am the AWL…Commissioner.

We…are…BACK!  The Animated Wrestling League is REBORN!!!  At the turning of the new year, we shall rise from the ashes for the biggest event in our calendar and the start of AWL Season 12: The New Year’s Tournament.  16 professional wrestlers will compete in a one-night single elimination tournament with the sole survivor receiving a prize more precious that any amount of money…an automatic title match at the AWL Grand Championship currently held by The Japanese Destroyer.

Furthermore, we are restarting the AWL Best 4 system of determining the top contenders to the AWL Grand Championship.  The winner of the New Year’s Tournament will be the number one contender, his fellow finalist will be number two, and the losers of the semifinals will become numbers three and four based on who has the best win loss record.

More information regarding the tournament will be announced within the next few days.  However, before we can continue into the future, we must discuss the past.  First, all win loss records and tag team division points are reinstated and shall be carried over from Season 11.  Before Season 12 properly begins at AWL 221, there will be an AWL By the Numbers post to clarify such matters.

Second, the Animated Wrestling League is offering an open invitation for all AWL Wrestlers who signed with Global Wrestling Monopoly to return to the Animated Wrestling League without prejudice.  Already Ganba, Luke James, all three members of Shin Jidai, and The Augments have taken us up on the offer.  The offer is still open to anyone who qualifies.  The lone exception is American Beetle.  He lost the Batsumania Match at AWL 220 and is not welcome to return.

Third, speaking of the Augments, I hereby STRIP Project Tetsu of the AWL Anarchy Championship and officially once again retire the title.  Season 12 will be about the restoration of order to the Animated Wrestling League.  The last thing I need is anarchy.

Forth, I have received requests for bookings from some former Global Wrestling Monopoly so called Superstars.  Their requests will be considered on a case by case basis.  Already I have signed Tiger the Dark to an AWL Contract and happily welcome him to the roster.

Fifth, I am still deciding what to do with the now defunct Global Wrestling Monopoly championship belts that we acquired following Final Wars.  More information on that as it becomes available.

Finally, allow me to announce the official Supercard schedule for 2018:
January: New Year’s Tournament 2018.
February: National Pro Wrestling Day 2018? (Chikara has not announced the event for this year.)
March: ???? (Well, I have to keep some secrets. BWAHAHAHAHAH!)
May: Golden War 2018.
August: Obon-nanza 2018.
October: Clash of Styles Tournament.

That is all.  I wish all of you a very happy holiday and ask you to please look forward to the 12th Season of the Animated Wrestling League.

THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Behind the scenes.

In a highly unusual turn of events, the AWL Commissioner has released the transcript of a meeting between himself and Miss X of GWM.  We’ve selected the relevant portions and edited out the pleasantries and corporate BS.

AWL Commissioner: He wants...what?

Miss X: Why, to defend his championship of course.  Or do the Japanese not understand the concept of a fighting champion?

AWL Commissioner: Better than the Americans we do.  However, what you are asking is not only unprecedented, it is impossible.

Miss X: Only because you’ve never had an Intercontinental Champion who could do it.  But this is no great challenge for the GWM World’s Heavyweight Champion.  Besides, AWL 220 is so close, what else can he do?  There’s not enough time otherwise and you know it.

AWL Commissioner: I think you are both out of your minds.  But very well, if he is that desperate to lose the title, who am I to refuse?  You do realize I have sole authority to determine the challengers, yes?

Miss X: Of course.  It doesn’t matter either way.

AWL Commissioner: Oh, and neither you nor any member of your little promotion will be permitted at ringside.  If your champion is so strong, let him stand upon his own paws.

Miss X: …Agreed.  Next weekend?

AWL Commissioner: Indeed.  AWL 216.  Tiger the Great the Third shall attempt to make FIVE defenses of the Animated Wrestling League Intercontinental Championship in a single event!  THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Miss X: Do you really have to scream like that?  I thought that was just for your little blog.

Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

With the Ultimate Summit less that one month away, I have NO intention of allowing one of Dr. Jigoku’s monsters to represent the Animated Wrestling League on the world stage.  Therefore, I am COMMISSIONING a #1 Contender’s Match between all four members of the AWL Best 4 this weekend at AWL 210 with the winner to face Wrestler X for the Animated Wrestling League Grand Championship the following week at AWL 211.

Yes, you heard me correctly, I did not misspeak nor did my secretary mistype.  I said all four.  That’s because Hassan, Jack Butcher, and Tiny will be joined by the winner of the opening contest of AWL 210:

Frederick Victor vs. HAKAISHA!

The co-holder of the Animated Wrestling League Tag Team Championship of the World holds a pinfall victory over then Animated Wrestling League Grand Champion Sammy Nix.  Whereas the Japanese Destroyer has the best Win-Loss Record of any active competitor not currently in the Best 4.

While it may seem unfair to ask the winner of this bout to compete twice in one evening, if you want to be a champion, you must EARN the opportunity.

THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.  It has been a fascinating week around the Wrestling World. And the excitement shall continue through the month of April into May and our annual spring Super Card: The Golden War!

Previously, I released the name of my latest project, as part of my plan to open the doors of the Animated Wrestling League to more talent from the wider world of professional wrestling.  To wit, I have COMMISSIONED the 究極のサミット or Kyuukyoku no Summit.  A one night, 8 man tournament to take place at the GOLDEN WAR in just under 4 weeks.

In a format thus far only dreamed about in the back pages of wrestling magazines, this tournament shall be composed entirely of THE TOP SINGLES CHAMPIONS from all over the Independent Wrestling World!!  They shall bring their belts and the honor of their home promotions to the AWL Arena.  While no titles will be on the line, pride most certainly shall be…as will a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY!

Details are still being worked out, but I can announce the first two champions who will attempt to climb the ultimate summit:

1. AWL Grand Champion: Wrestler X.

2. Chikara Grand Champion: Juan Francisco de Coronado.

Please note, that it is the championship that earns a ticket to the Golden War.  If ANY champion announced loses their title between now and Golden Week, they shall be instantly dis-invited and the new champion shall replace them.

Please stay tuned over the next several weeks as more champions are added to the Golden War and the 究極のサミット.

THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commissioner's (Somewhat) Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.  I am the AWL Commissioner.

In my chosen profession as a promoter of professional wrestling I find myself interacting with some…unique…individuals.  American Beetle is one such man…insect…whatever.  Never before have I seen such an abrupt change in anyone, wrestler or not.  For years we have advertised American Beetle as America Personified.  I had thought that this was simple wrestling hyperbole.  However, his complete shift in personality and tactics tell me that recent events in the United States have affected him at a level deeper than anything I could have imagined.

As you know, American Beetle has requested a tag team match for AWL 207.  Well, I have someone that I want to see get beaten up by Cage so why not.  At AWL 207 American Beetle and Cage will face Tanaka Kenichi and a partner of his choosing in tag team action.

Additionally, after what happened during the 4-way match last weekend, I have COMMISSIONED a rematch between Ma-Ji-Ku and Prince Puma to take place this weekend as well.

Finally, the Animated Wrestling League Grand Championship shall be defended in two weeks time.  Therefore, all four members of the AWL Best 4 shall compete in a 4-Way Match with the winner to challenge Sammy Nix the following week.

THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

First of all, I would like to congratulate Sammy Nix and Tiger Mask II for becoming the new Animated Wrestling League Grand and Intercontinental Champions respectively.  I speak for the entire league when I say that I look forward to many outstanding championship matches from both of them.

However, I must now address the proverbial elephant in the room.  The Global Wrestling Monopoly has made public false statements about the Animated Wrestling League and an invitation that was never extended to them.  However, I enjoy a challenge and I have accepted their offer on a per-appearance basis.  That means that I have unilateral discretion to ban any and all GWM competitors form the AWL at will.  This will NOT turn into another Bullet Club debacle.

That said, I have COMMISSIONED the following matches for AWL 201:

AWL 201 Main Event
Tiger Mask II (C) vs. Big Foot (GWM)
AWL Intercontinental Championship Match—1st Title Defense

Before COMMISSIONING this match, I spoke to Tiger Mask II and did something I usually do not do.  I gave him veto power over the match.  He has chosen to fight Big Foot and that is the only reason this match is happening.  As for the second GWM member who has challenged my AWL Roster, he needs to know that one does not become a main eventer in the Animated Wrestling League just by saying “I am a main eventer.”  Therefore…

Yellow Devil (GWM) vs. Mr. Smiles

This shall most assuredly be a mid-card match.  Let us see if one of the best of GWM can defeat one of our lowest ranked competitors.  Personally, I doubt it.

Finally, I have two items to note regarding the AWL Roster.  First of all, the AWL has come to terms on the release of the wrestler known as Bruce Hoyt from his AWL contract.  We wish him well in all his future endeavors.

Secondly, AWL junior official Daiki Babaganoush has left the AWL to complete his final training to become a full time, unmasked, referee.  This is a procedure that all members of the world famous Babaganoush Wrestling Family undergo as part of their training.  We wish him great success in this and all his future endeavors.

The full card for AWL 201 will be announced tomorrow.

Chiba Akagi (C) vs. Sammy Nix (#1)
AWL Grand Championship Match--1st Title Defense

Full Card for AWL 195 and HUGE announcement!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

It has been a...trying time here in the Animated Wrestling League. For various reasons we have had to delay many of our programs this season. As a result, we are behind schedule. Since we have booked the Tokyo Dome for AWL 200 on December 18th (and our booking fee is non-refundable) we must, as the young people say, play catch up.

Therefore, I have COMMISSIONED that the first two weeks of December shall be DOUBLE HEADER DECEMBER in the AWL! That's right, new episodes of the Animated Wrestling League on BOTH Saturday and Sunday of those weekends!

This! I have COMMISSIONED!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
--XOXO AWL Commissioner.

The Commissioner Changes the Game.

Good evening. I am the AWL Commissioner.

It is my sad duty to inform you that Wonder Kid has a broken neck and his doctors say he will never wrestle again. While his impressively strong neck muscles allowed him to survive the process, and with therapy he will walk again, his wrestling career is over.

We now know that Ma-Ji-Ku was correct. The monster that did this IS an Augment! We also know that he will continue to attack anyone who wrestles for the AWL Grand Championship and loses.

This puts me in an impossible spot. I can not simply fire the Grand Champion without losing the belt and forcing this entire company (which many people depend upon for their livelihoods) to close. An obscure Japanese law recognizes all deaths or injuries in the ring as accidents so I can not call the police. In the end, I can not in good conscience ask AWL Wrestlers to risk their lives in this way. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I hereby disband the AWL Best 4.

My most sincere apologies to Ma-Ji-Ku, Hassan, Wyvern, and Lee Masters. I hope they will find it in their hearts to forgive me.

This, I have commissioned.

Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

There are two matters I wish to clear up with you. The first is regarding the AWL Wrestler known as Frederick Victor. I do not like liars and I shall not suffer fools. In addition to the fines and penalties already imposed upon The Empire, Mister Victor WILL compete and will face the youngest member of the AWL Roster: Hifumi Ryuji! Failure to compete shall result in IMMEDIATE release from his contract!

On a more serious matter, I have received a communication from the...manager...of the Augments, Dr. Jigoku. He wishes for his man Usagi Kick to utilize his title opportunity this weekend at AWL 188. I have informed Ganba of the challenge and the gauntlet has been picked up. This Sunday, Ganba will meet the first of three challenges of the Augments.

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commissioner's response to Ma-Ji-Ku.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

Ma-Ji-Ku, no.  You shall NOT receive a Grudge Match with the Augments.  While I share your desire to get to the bottom of this mystery.  I shall NOT commission such a thing on such circumstantial evidence.  In the few hours since we have posted your claims, I have received many messages from Dr. Jigoku angrily proclaiming his innocence.  He has threatened to sue the AWL over his issue and we can't have that at the moment.

However, the argument Ma-Ji-Ku makes is at least somewhat compelling.  Therefore I am barring Dr. Jigoku and all Augments from the AWL Arena for AWL 182.  According to Dr. Jigoku, all Augments contain a transmitter that allows Jigoku to keep tabs on his creations.  In an effort to prove his innocence, Dr. Jigoku has willing turned this technology over to Chronos Security.  All entrances to the AWL Arena shall be equipped with Augment detectors to prevent any of Dr. Jigoku's creations from entering the building.  We shall see how this goes moving forward.

Tomorrow, I shall have the card for AWL 182 announced.

AWL Commissioner's Announcement

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am the AWL Commissioner.  And it  is my great pleasure to announce what shall be a defining feature of the tenth season of the Animated Wrestling League.  Ever since the inception of the league, I have had one cardinal rule: All forms and styles of professional wrestling are welcome here!  But the time has come to see which form is the best and in the world of professional wrestling we can do this in only one way:

The AWL Clash of Styles Tournament!

An 8-Man round robin tournament featuring Representatives of the following styles:
1. Lucha Libre
2. Technical Wrestling
3. Powerhouse Wrestling
4. Strong Style
5. Hardcore Wrestling
6. Brawling
7. Specialization
8. Tiger Style

The CoS Tournament shall be scored thusly:
2 points for a win.
1 point each for a draw.
0 points for a loss.
(All matches contested to a 10 minute time limit)

The two men with the highest scores (after any necessary tie breakers) shall meet at AWL 200 in the CoS Final.  The winner shall receive:

1. The title of "Ultimate Master of The Ultimate Style of Professional Wrestling."

2. A \100,000,000 cash prize.

3. A Golden Opportunity!
(For those of you who do not follow Chikara, this means an open contract for any match, any time, any place, any title, any stipulation.)

It should be a fantastic tournament!  The first two matches to determine the first two Representatives shall take place this Sunday at Obon-Nanza.

THIS!  I have COMMISSIONED!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commissioner's Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

It is my pleasure to announce both a special guest returning to the Animated Wrestling League Arena this weekend and a most unusual main event.

Firstly, last weekend I received a message from Gedo-san, manager of "Rainmaker" Okada Kazuchika in summation, the Rainmaker does not wish to wait for his championship opportunity here in the Animated Wrestling League. That is quite understandable and therefore I have COMMISSIONED the following match to take place at AWL 176:
RAINMAKER オカダカズチカ (#3) vs. 千葉赤城 (#2)
Rank on the Line

While I fully understand that Mister Okada might not like the fact that he will haveto wait a few weeks, that is unavoidable. Because before I received Gedo-san's message, I had already COMMISSIONED the next Animated Wrestling league Grand Championship Match for AWL 177:
AWL 177:
Hassan (C) vs. HAKAISHA! (#1)
Animated Wrestling League Grand Championship Match
2nd Title Defense
Therefore if The Rainmaker or Chiba Akagi are victorious this weekend, they will face the Animated Wrestling League Grand Champion in the main event of the Season 9 Finale at AWL 180 on July 10th. That brings me to my second announcement for AWL 176:
The All Americans (2) vs. The Destroyers of DOOM! (C)
Non-Title Match
Points in Play
Yes, yes, yes, I know that it is most unusual to have champions of any division compete in a non-title match with points on the line. However, with both the champion and the challeger in the next Grand Championship match on regestured tag teams, it made sense to make this match. Besides, if The All Americans can beat the Animated Wrestling League World Tag Team Champions, they will absolutely have earned a championship match.

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Commissioner's Address on Tanaka Kenichi

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

Last Sunday at Animated Wrestling League episode 174, I witnessed the single worst and most dispicable act of cowardess I have seen in 15 years of promoting professional wrestling. Not only did that lying snake Tanaka Kenichi slither away from his match with Wyvern, he threw his team mate Maglubiyet Junior into the waiting maw of The Young Dragon. Then something happened that truly suprised me. The goblinoid prevailed against Wyvern, giving him only his second ever loss.

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! For an Animated Wrestling League wrestler to refuse a match is crime enough to warrant fines and suspensions, but to attempt to sacrifice your own teammate is not only a betrayal of trust, it shows a complete lack of integrity.....that I have come to expect from Tanaka Kenichi.

His punishments shall be as follows:
1. Tanaka Kenichi has been fined two months pay, he was not paid last week, and shall not be paid this week.

2. Maglubiyet Junior shall receive not only his pay for AWL 174, he shall receive Tanaka Kenichi's as well. Furthermore, Maglubiyet Junior shall receive credit for the much needed victory.

3. Tanaka Kenichi shall compete in a.....Punishment Matchthis weekend at Animated Wrestling League episode 175 against.....Intercontinental Champion Jack Butcher! Unfortunately, Mister Butcher would only agree to the match if I made it his next defense of the Intercontinental Championship. I suppose I can not blame him for desiring the easy win. It is a fair trade.
AWL 175:
Jack Butcher (C) vs. THUGLIFE 田中健一
AWL Intercontinental Championship Match
2nd Title Defense
Additionally, I wish to provide you wrestling fans with something I know you desire. Ever since the Golden War, I have been bombarded with requests for a rematch between Wyvern and the new Animated Wrestling League Grand Champion Hassan. Unfortunately, the rules of the Animated Wrestling League do not permit me to COMMISSION a championship rematch and Wyvern volunteered to remove himself from the next Fight for Four so it is highly unlikely that they will cross proverbial swords again this season. So I have done the next best thing. They shall gaze at one another across the ring...in tag team action:
Shin Jidai (2) vs. The All Americans (1)
Points in Play

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Commissioner's (Semi) Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I am the AWL Commissioner. I wish to offer my most sincere congratulations to The New Classics for their victory this past weekend. Not only have they set the record for most reigns as AWL World Tag Team Champions, they have saved the AWL Tag Team Division itself! Hazzah!!

With the tag team issue resolved, "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson has left the AWL and is now training at the WWE Performance Center for his eventual WWE or NXT debut. Even with all of the headaches he has caused both myself and the Animated Wrestling League, we still wish him well in all his future endeavors.

That leaves us with the question of what to do with the remaining members of Bullet Club. Since they no longer have any championships to hold over my head like the Sword of Damocles, I would be perfectly within my rights to simply fire all of them and have done with it.

But that would deprive you fine people of a fine main event. Besides, I prefer to allow even my most hated enemies a chance to prove themselves on the field of combat, or in the ring of wrestling as the case may be. Therefore, all three remaining members of Bullet Club shall face my hand picked team of AWL Wrestlers in the following match:
AWL 169:
Main Event
BATSU MATCH!
Bullet Club vs. Ganba, Ma-Ji-Ku, & HAKAISHA!
Elimination Trios Match
There MUST be a winner!

That means that there shall be no count outs. No disqualifications. No time limit. And if Bullet Club lose, they shall be FIRED!!

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

--XOXO AWL Commissioner
