AWL 321 Pt. 4
NEWS FLASH:
AWL
Wrestler Tiger Mask II has made the following announcement (Translated from the
original Japanese by the AWL Translation Team):
“Shin
Tiger Jr. and I were entered into the Forge because we had a point in the old
system. That point was a relic from the
time Tiger the Dark and I were training our students and it was a terrible
idea. The philosophy of the Unified
School of the Tiger Style is that, while we wear the gold and black colors to
remember our history, there is no Golden Tiger Style or Black Tiger Style, only
THE Tiger Style.
We
should never have been in that tournament and we certainly should not be in the
Best 4. Therefore, I have requested that
the AWL Commissioner remove my name from the rankings and insert Black Tiger
Justice. It’s time for the young
generation to take the lead.”
And the
AWL Commissioner has granted this request.
Therefore, the AWL Best 4 for the Men’s Tag Team Division now looks like
this:
1. Bullet Club
2. The New Classics
3. Monster Union
4. The Tiger Brothers

Card for AWL 320 so far.
Last
weekend the leader of the Purosentai Resurangers, ResuRED dropped a HUGE
bombshell that completely changed the look and landscape of our upcoming season
finale. At AWL 320, the heroes are
cashing in the Golden Opportunities that they won at last season’s
finale in the Tokyo Dome against every title the Augments still hold. This monumental shakeup means the card for
AWL 320 currently looks like this:
AWL 320: Season
16 Finale
MAIN EVENT:
JIgoku DESTROY (C)
vs. ResuRED (GO)
AWL Grand
Championship Match
5th
Title Defense
The Augments (C) vs.
Purosentai Resurangers (GO)
AWL World’s Tag
Team Championship Match
4th
Title Defense
With
X-Drone losing the Intercontinental Championship to Hebitsukai last weekend,
there is no need for the Resurangers’ third and final Golden Opportunity to be
cashed in at this time. Additionally,
while it stands to reason that ResuBLUE will use his Super Sentai Super Power
“One Man Tag Team” to challenge for the AWL World’s Tag Team Titles, the exact
line up has yet to be determined.
But
that’s not the only title match currently scheduled for AWL 320. The best and biggest of the AWL Joshi
Division will face off one more time with the gold on the line!
Akira Merune (C)
vs. Athena Jane (#1)
AWL Joshi
Championship Match
1st
Title Defense
In
other news, a mysterious post to this very blog last week would seem to
indicate that Ganba Hisshi Dark has accepted the challenge of Matt Classic Sr.
so we here at AWL HQ feel comfortable adding the match to the card:
Matt Classic Sr.
vs. Ganba Hisshi Dark
Lucha de Apuesta
Next, a
NEW match just announced for the finale!
With the Resurangers taking over the main event, the AWL Best 4 are out
in the cold…until now. The AWL
Commissioner has decided to put a contract to challenge the AWL Grand Champion
(Whomever he may be) at next season’s premier in a briefcase and…you can see
where this is going, right?
Lee Masters vs.
King Akira vs. Wyvern vs. Tiger Mask II
LADDER
MATCH!!
Winner
challenges for the Grand Championship at AWL 321!
Last,
and least, starting off the show will be 4 worst wrestlers in the AWL
today fighting to save their careers. At
this point, all 4 members are mathematically LOCKED in the Danger Zone so it’s
time to finally announce the match officially.
“Thuglife” Tanaka
Kenichi vs. Mr. Smiles vs. Hasaiki vs. Michael Dunne
BATSUMANIA
It’s already been a chaotic couple of weeks already so I have no doubt that this card will change several times between now and AWL 320. In fact, check right back here tomorrow for a match announcement with serious finale implications.

Tetsu the Big Metal Dog
Last
week, Dr. Jigoku’s new Guard Dog Rule came into effect and it has already had a
massive effect on the AWL Best 4 as Wyvern has fallen from #1 to #4. That means the AWL Best 4 now looks like
this:
AWL Best 4:
1. Shynron
2. Lee Masters
3. King Akira
4. Wyvern
This weekend, the Guard Dog Rule
will be in effect once again and Dr. Jigoku has called out the heavy hitters:
Shynron vs.
Project 鉄

Ranks Ranks Everywhere!
As is to be expected after a Supercard, there are holes to
be filled in in Best 4 rankings as the eternal quest for championship gold enters
its next phase. As such the following
matches have been signed for AWL 313.
Hassan vs. King
Akira
Fight for 4
King
Akira’s victory in the battle royal at Golden War 2020 has earned him this opportunity
to enter the Best 4. Hassan’s record and
status as a Triple Crown Champion speak for themselves. The winner will join Wyvern, Shynron, and Lee
Masters in the race to challenge for the AWL Grand Championship. Speaking of whom…
Wyvern (#1) vs.
Project-Z
Rank on the Line
Dr.
Jigoku has used the leverage controlling most of the AWL Championships to
institute a Guard Dog rule. Anyone
wishing to challenge Jigoku DESTROY for the AWL Grand Championship must defeat
one of Dr. Jigoku’s other Augments first.
The first wrestler to have to tolerate this rule is The Young Dragon.
Meanwhile
in the Joshi Division:
Ladies of Lucha
(0) vs. The Unholy Allience (0)
Points in Play
Fight for 3 and 4
The winners
earn one point AND enter the Best 4 with the wrestler who gets the fall or
submission taking the higher rank.

AWL 308: Super Suplexes
I told you there'd be a video this weekend! The road to Sakuramania Wrestlegenesis continues as we find a #1 Contender to challenge Jigoku DESTROY at the Supercard in just 2 weeks!

Fight for...ever
At AWL
305, the top two members of the AWL Best 4 took their shot at the AWL Grand
Championship. That means a couple of
things. First, there are now two empty
slots in the Best 4. Second, we need a
new #1 Contender. With all this in mind,
the AWL Commissioner has put together the following matches:
AWL 306
MAIN EVENT
ResuRED vs. Tiger
Mask II
AWL Grand
Championship #1 Contender’s Match.
Wyvern vs.
Erupcion Solar
Fight for 4
Matt Classic Sr.
vs. Lee Masters vs. Sammy Nix
Fight for 3
A note
of explanation on that last match. Matt,
Lee, and Sammy are all bunched up together in the AWL Win-Loss Records and,
with the chance to jump straight to the #3 slot, the AWL Commissioner feels
that it’s only fair that you should have to beat 2 opponents rather than 1.
All
these matches will take place this weekend so stay tuned to this blog and our
YouTube channel for more from the Animated Wrestling League!

Return of an Old Style
Greetings
wrestling fans! RyuSensei here at the
start of a BIG week for the AWL. This
weekend at AWL 305, the Grand Championship is on the line as hero meets monster
in the squared circle.
Additionally,
a semifinal match has just been signed that promises to be a spectacle for any
and all fans of scientific wrestling:
Jessica Kidd vs.
Akira Merune
World of Sport
Rules
2 falls, 2
submissions, or a KO in 5 rounds of 5 minutes
As we
all know, Jessica Kidd is the daughter of one of the greatest practitioners of
this classic British style of professional wrestling and this will be her first
WoS Rules Match in the AWL. According to
my sources, it was Akira Merune who requested this match. Two weeks ago, Kidd forced Akira to tap out
to the octopus hold to win the Joshi Tag Team Titles. For a submission master to lose via
submission is an embarrassment so this match, which favors submission and
technical wrestling, will be a great chance for revenge.
In
other Joshi Division news, there has been a vacany in the AWL Best 4 for a
number of weeks and we’re finally getting around to filling it:
Usa-Chan vs.
Athena Jane
Fight for 4
This will be Usa-Chan’s first chance
to get back into the
Best 4 since injury forced her to give up her spot. Athena Jane will be a tough mountain to
climb, but if anyone can do it, it’s the bunny girl.

AWL Commissioner Rules on Reshuffle Match
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL
Commissioner.
It has been a long time since I
have needed to make a public statement regarding happenings in the Animated
Wrestling League, so please forgive me if I seem somewhat out of practice at
this.
Last weekend during episode 302 of The
Animated Wrestling League, The Augments known as Project Tetsu and Jigoku
DESTROY refused to continue a four way Reshuffle Match once they became the
final two competitors. As a result, Animated
Wrestling League Senior Official Joey Babaganoush declared the match a
no-contest. As always, the referee’s
decision is final and sacrosanct. Senior
Official Babaganoush was completely within his rights to make this most unusual
call. As a result, the two falls that
did take place in the reshuffle match shall NOT be counted in the Animated
Wrestling League Win-Loss Records.
However, while all action within
the ring is the sole responsibility of the referee, responsibility for the
Animated Wrestling League Best 4 Rankings lies solely with me. ResuRED and Tiger Mask II did lose
valid pinfalls and double teaming is legal in a Reshuffle Match. Therefore, I see no reason not to alter the Best
4 Rankings to reflect those results. The
current Best 4 Rankings are as follows:
1. TBD
2. TBD
3. Tiger Mask II
4. ResuRED
As for the top two positions, there
will be a match between the two Augments who refused to continue their match. However, it shall not take place next
weekend. I’m instating a 1 week cooling
off period. Project Tetsu and Jigoku DESTROY
are hereby suspended without pay until Animated Wrestling League
Episode 304. At which time the following
match will take place:
Project
Tetsu vs. Jigoku DESTROY
#1
Contender’s Match for the AWL Grand Championship
All
Other Augments BARRED from Ringside.
If
either competitor refuses to compete, BOTH will be immediately FIRED!
Do not push me Jigoku! THIS!
I have COMMISSIONED!!!
