AWL 332 Full Show

AWL 332: 世界のスポーツ World of Sport

3 wrestlers with equally terrible win loss records face each other to see who will fall to the DANGER ZONE!  By special order of the AWL Commissioner, this match is 1 fall to a finish!

After an unsuccessful singles match against Hifumi Ryuji last week, Shynron and the Double Dragons try to get things back on track in a tag team match with the #2 ranked team in the AWL Best 4.

Two of the best technical wrestlers in the AWL face off in a #1 Contender's Match with the winner set to face Jigoku DESTROY for the AWL Grand Championship next week!  By mutual agreement of both wrestlers, this match will be a Submission Match!!

Sekai-Gun vs. The Augments
Trios Match!

With Kid Canada one win away from earning the right to cash in the IC Title for a free shot at the Grand Championship, the international army must face the full force of Dr. Jigoku's Augments.

Joya vs. "Lady Smooth" Jessica Kidd
World of Sport Rules Match
2 Falls, 2 Submissions, or a KO in up to 5 rounds

Main Event Friday continues the feud between new AWL Joshi Champion Joya and former champion Jessica Kidd.  Kidd feels she was cheated out of the title when the referee stopped the title match at Champions' Week and challenged Joya to this World of Sport Rules Match.  While the AWL Joshi Championship is NOT on the line tonight, if Jessica Kidd can beat the champion not once but twice, she will have an excellent argument for reinstatement into the AWL Best 4.

Return of an Old Style

Greetings wrestling fans!  RyuSensei here at the start of a BIG week for the AWL.  This weekend at AWL 305, the Grand Championship is on the line as hero meets monster in the squared circle.
Additionally, a semifinal match has just been signed that promises to be a spectacle for any and all fans of scientific wrestling:
Jessica Kidd vs. Akira Merune
World of Sport Rules
2 falls, 2 submissions, or a KO in 5 rounds of 5 minutes

As we all know, Jessica Kidd is the daughter of one of the greatest practitioners of this classic British style of professional wrestling and this will be her first WoS Rules Match in the AWL.  According to my sources, it was Akira Merune who requested this match.  Two weeks ago, Kidd forced Akira to tap out to the octopus hold to win the Joshi Tag Team Titles.  For a submission master to lose via submission is an embarrassment so this match, which favors submission and technical wrestling, will be a great chance for revenge.

In other Joshi Division news, there has been a vacany in the AWL Best 4 for a number of weeks and we’re finally getting around to filling it:
Usa-Chan vs. Athena Jane
Fight for 4
This will be Usa-Chan’s first chance to get back into the
Best 4 since injury forced her to give up her spot.  Athena Jane will be a tough mountain to climb, but if anyone can do it, it’s the bunny girl.

A New Rule System Because Sore Losers.

And, because I don’t have enough work to do apparently, ANOTHER match has been added to AWL 226.  This message was delivered to AWL HQ last night:
I have come to a conclusion.  My tag team, The Empire, has not fared well this season, nor was I able to capture the Intercontinental Championship last week.  The fault, as my countryman said, lays not in our stars but in ourselves.  I should have seen the situation for what it was.  The problem is not my associate or myself, but in the Animated Wrestling League itself!  This strange hybrid of American and Japanese wrestling rules leaves me at an automatic disadvantage.  Therefore, I am going to educate the AWL as to the way professional wrestling is supposed to be.
This weekend, at AWL 226, I’m bringing back…World of Sport Rules!  5 rounds of 5 minutes with 2 falls, 2 submissions, or a knockout to decide the winner.  Leaving the ring results in disqualification.  Because I know Joey Babaganoush can’t referee such a sophisticated match for very long, I’ll allow the round to end upon a fall.  Joey’s also not that smart or observant, so I’ll even remove the rule that breaking contact on the mat ends the exchange.
Once the AWL fans understand what REAL wrestling
looks like, they’ll be begging for me to be inserted into the Best 4.
