Special Announcement

Hey there AWL fans!  This is RyuSensei here to let you know about a very unusual event we have scheduled.  This week there will be not one, but TWO AWL shows!

As an unofficial part of National Pro Wrestling Day, the AWL will be airing a 3 match mini-episode in addition to our weekly program.  The card is as follows:

Main Event: Wonder Kid vs Matt Classic.  Non-title match.

Semi-Final: Lucha vs. Maglubiyet Jr. vs Curry Man vs Shin Tora.  Light Heavyweight #1 Contender's Match.

Kid Canada vs Lee Masters.  10 Minute Submission Exhibition.  Most submissions in the time limit wins.

Everybody take cover, the Commish is on the war path!

OK, that is the last straw!  Good evening Ladies and gentlemen.  I am the AWL Commissioner and I am pissed off!  I am sick and tired of AWL tag title matches ending in bloody RING OUTS!!

So much so that I am hereby changing the rules of all future AWL World Tag Team Title Matches so that they shall be No Count Outs.  Furthermore, at AWL 43, there shall be a REMATCH between The All Americans and The Technicos for the titles.

To celebrate this revival of the tag team division, I am commissioning a one night tag team tournament for a future title shot.  And what the hell, the first round of this tournament will feature established tag teams against newly formed tag teams.

THIS . . . I HAVE COMMISSIONED!!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

A message from Wrestler X

This is insulting!  The Commissioner holds something he calls the "Biggest Tournament of the Year" and doesn't invite ME?  What the hell was he thinking?  You can't claim to have the best of the best in the AWL in a tournament and now include Wrestler X!  Everyone who watched the New Year's Tournament should get together and sue for false advertising!!

I know more holds, moves, counters, and styles than the entire rest of the roster pit together.  You've heard of other men referred to as "Master of 1000 Holds?"  Well I knew more than that my first week of wrestling camp.  In fact, I am the Master of All Wrestling!

I DEMAND that the AWL Commissioner give me the level of competition I deserve or I WILL make that lawsuit happen.

On behalf of the AWL World Heavyweight Champion, I would like to congratulate Black Tiger King on his victory in the 2013 New Year’s tournament.  However, Mr. “King” should remember, that the so-called prophecy is by no means a guarantee of championship success.  Need I remind anyone of the tragic fate of the late and once great Stig?  No, I didn’t think so.

Besides, it doesn’t matter because Black Tiger King isn’t going to get a title shot.  Nobody is.  Wonder Kid is going to equal and surpass his former one year title reign without ever having to defend the gold.

We are implementing something called the 10 Minute Challenge.  The rules are as follows.

1. Any prospective contender must compete against The Man Muscle Mountain in a non-title match with a 10 minute time limit.

2. If the challenger survives the entire 10 minutes without losing, he gets his title shot on the very next episode of AWL.  That’s all he has to do, stay 10 minutes with the champ.

3. If, by some miracle, the challenger actually beats Wonder Kid not going to happen then he not only gets his title shot, but the challenger may choose the stipulations for the match.

4. If and when the challenger loses, he is OUT of the Best 4 for the crime of just not being good enough!

All hail The Man Muscle Mountain, The 20 Minute Titan, and the AWL World Heavyweight Champion: WONDER KID!!

Message from the AWL Commissioner.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.  I am the AWL...Commissioner, and WELCOME to Season 3 of the Animated Wrestling League.  Our normal broadcast schedule will resume this weekend with AWL 42.  The main event of which will be The All Americans defending their AWL World Tag Team Titles against The Technicos (Who won #1 Contender's status back at AWL 38).

Congratulations to Black Tiger King. Winning the New Year's Tournament is one hell of a way to make a name for yourself.  It is always refreshing to welcome new talent into the AWL roster and I see a bright future for the young masked man in this company.

Now, I must relay some sad news.  AWL wrestler and current #3 contender Super Giant was horribly injured during the off season in a tragic bowling ball cleaning machine accident.  According to doctors, he will never wrestle again.  Fortunately for Super Giant, he got a multimillion dollar settlement out of it and never has so work another day in his life.

We wish Super Giant well in all his future endeavors. However, his place I the Best 4 must be filled.  Silver Potato will move from #4 to #3 to fill in the gap and I can think of no better wrestler to fill in that slot than someone who is undefeated in AWL competition:

The Countdown has begun!

MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY!!!!

That's right folks, the 3rd season of the Animated Wrestling League is upon us.

Monday January 14th, Japan time, we will begin the biggest event on the AWL calendar: The 2013 お正月大会!

But this year things are going to be a little bit different, this year we are not going to try and cram the wntire tournament into one video.  With 15 matches, that would add up to a 3+ hour wrestling show.  We'd be crazy to expect you to watch all that in one sitting.  So Monday you will see the first of 5 videos covering the entire tournament.  These videos will be posted daily until Friday January 18th.

Yes, you heard that correctly, a whole week of AWL action.  Happy belated holidays everyone.
