While we all thought the steel cage match at Golden War 2016was going to be the end of things between these two, Dr. Jigoku has pointed out that Project Tetsu (having beaten Jack Butcher at Golden War) deserved the first title shot against the new AWL IC Champ. It's not often the bad doctor makes sense, but this is the exception that proves the rule. The AWL Commissioner agreed with the argument and booked what is sure to be a knock down drag out brawl.

We already know that the next AWL Grand Championship Match is scheduled for next week. So we need to find a challenger. Currently set as #1 Contender is the Man Muscle Mountain, Wonder Kid who has already declared his certain victory. But AWL tradition dictates that the #1 Contender continue to prove himself. This will be a 2 fall elimination match. The loser of the 1st fall will be the #3 Contender. The loser of the 2nd fall, #2. And the winner of the bout #1 and he shall go on to AWL 174 to challenge Hassan for the Animated Wrestling League Grand Championship!

And there you have it, the full card for AWL 173. Now be warned, all of these matches are on the higher end of the time limit scale. The main event IC Title Match will have a 2 minute time limit, and all the other matches (by virtue of being tag team or multi-man matches) are scheduled for up to 15 minutes. So that's up to 80 minutes of wrestling set for a 60 minute show.
