First round matches for tomorrow's show!

OK boys and girls. Time for the news you've all been waiting for: The first round match-ups for the AWL 2014 お正月大会/New Year's Tournament. With the recent revelation that CM Punk will be in the tournament, we can now reveal the full line up in order:

1. Ultramantis Black—AWL World Heavyweight Champion (UMB loses at any point in the tournament, the man who beats him becomes #1 Contender).

5. Ma-Ji-Ku

6. Jack Butcher

7. Tiny—AWL World Tag Team Champion

8. El Rudo Rojo

9. Dragon

10. Ganba

11. Wonder Kid

13. Matt Classic

14. Tiger Mask

15. El Santo Azul

16. CM Punk

With the exceptions of Ultramantis Black at #1 and CM Punk at #16, all matches were decided by random lottery. From the look of it, the Wrestling Gods have smiled upon us and granted us some interesting first round matches. Dragon vs. Ganba is a dream match between two AWL All Stars and Matt Classic vs. Tiger Mask will be a great opportunity to see two veterans ply their craft in the AWL ring.

We are less than 12 hours from the return of the AWL regular season and the first time that two videos will be posted on two consecutive days.  The first round matches listed here will be posted first, with the rest of the tournament to be posted less than 24 hours later.
