The legal stuff.

Just a quick update to let you all know the exact status of the AWL Grand Championship. While many of the messy details have been sealed by the ourt and I can not discuss them, both the AWL Commissioner and the company's legal team have agreed to provide the following clarifying information:

1. The wrestler known as THUGLIFE Tanaka Kenichi has been rehired by the AWL and is the reigning AWL Grand Champion.

2. The wrestlers known as Bruce Hoyt and Maglubiyet Jr. have also been rehired by the AWL. Together with Tanaka Kenichi they shall form a new stable to be called RUZAI.

3. The AWL Commissioner has warned Mr. Tanaka that he had better hang on to that AWL Grand Championship for a long time, because when he loses it...

That's all I have been allowed to tell you. THUGLIFE Tanaka Kenichi will make his first defense of the AWL Grand Championship against rookie sensation and New Year's Tournament winner Wyvern at National Pro Wrestling Day. Including Wyvern, the AWL Best 4 currently looks like this:

With the New Year's Tournament firmly in the history books, it's time to look forward toward every wrestling fan's favorite holiday, National Pro Wrestling Day! As we have done the last 3 years, the AWL is packing up and heading overseas to the good old US of A for a complimentary show to air alongside Chikara's NPWD program and hopefully to aid in showing the world the positive power of professional wrestling.

Already the first match has been made. With his victory at the New Year's Tournament, Wyvern has earned the right to challenge for the AWL Grand Championship:

Also, with Karl Anderson slated to make the move to WWE some time in the possibly very near future, we need to get those tag team titles off of Bullet Club or the AWL Commissioner will have no choice but to strip them of the titles. No promoter wants to break the lineage of a championship unless there is no other choice. So, at National Pro Wrestling Day, two teams with two points will face each other for the chance to challenge Bullet Club at AWL 161.
