Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I am the AWL Commissioner. And I have COMMISSIONED!!! a special trios match that shall take place at AWL 152. It shall be an inter-promotional match involving wrestlers from both the Animated Wrestling League and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

After A.J. Style's cowardly attack on Okada-senshu at AWL 150, it was my intention to have the two of them face one another in a Grudge Match. Unfortunately, the International Wrestling Gran Prix would not authorize such a match before Okada-sensu's title defense against A.J. Styles on Oct. 12th.
I suppose I can not blame them. I would have most probably done the same thing in their situation.

After some strenuous negotiations, we were able to come to an equatable arrangement. If two AWL Wrestlers would agree to partner with the Rainmaker, New Japan Pro Wrestling would agree to a trios match against three members of Bullet Club including A.J. Styles.
As you can undoubtedly imagine, several members of the AWL roster leapt at the opportunity.

Therefore at AWL 152:
Rainmaker" Okada, HAKAISHA!, & Ganba vs. Bullet Club (Styles, Fale, & Anderson)
Special Trios Match
AWL/NJPW
THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2.5 Matches Announced

The AWL Commissioner will make his weekly address tomorrow, but I can announce/confirm that two and a half matches have already been signed for AWL 152:
El Rudo Rojo (C) vs. ????
AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship Match
2nd Title Defense

That's literally half a title match. Now, to figure out who will go in place of those question marks:
6-Man Light Heavyweight #1 Contender's Battle Royal

Los Neko Grande (1) vs. Bullet Club (Hall/Omega) (0)
2 Point/15 Minute Match

So far, so obvious. However, stay tuned tomorrow for the Commissioner's Weekly Address, I have it on good authority that he has booked a proverbial barn burner of a match for this weekend.

Next Super Card Announced!

With AWL 150 in the history books, I think this is a good time to announce the next AWL Super Card!
AWL Super Card: Tag Matsuri 2015!
Date: Monday October 12th
Place: AWL Arena (Tokyo)
NO POINTS MAY BE LOST DURING THE TAG MATSURI

While I can't announce any specific matches, I can announce that the AWL World Tag Team Championship is set to be defended in the main event (the only time this season where that will be the case). If no team has the necessary 3 Points, a #1 contender will be determined during the matsuri itself.

Additionally, the annual Tag Team Gauntlet will be held once again. 2 teams will begin, another will enter as soon as one team is defeated, and the match will continue until one team has 3 Points (with each fall awarding a point). It's the one night a year where a team can go from nothing to #1 Contenders in one fell swoop.

I'm sure more will be announced as we get closer to the event. So stay tuned!

AWL 150!!!!

A week late, but still a great hour and ten minutes of professional wrestling brought to you by the Animated Wrestling League.

Beginning this week we're also experimenting with trying to upgrade to HD, but I don't think the screen capture software I use is capable of that.  If anyone has any recommendations, let me know in the comments.

AWL 150 this Sunday.

AWL 150 will be posted next weekend (Sept. 20th Japan Time).  I'm getting better, but posting a mid-week show this week AND getting a show together for the 20th is simply not going to happen.

The card for AWL 150 is still as previously announced including the special guest appearance from IWGP Champion RAINMAKER Okada Kazuchika.

Apologies again for the delay but sometimes real lives and those pesky little viruses get in the way of professional wrestling.

Delay due to illness.

I didn't want to post this under the vain hope that I'd get the show up on time somehow.  But time to come clean.

Over the past few days I have been in and out of hospital with severe flu symptoms.  Most notably a hacking cough so strong as to induce vomiting.  Obviously, this means that recording audio for a wrestling show is not going to happen at the moment.

AWL 150 will be up as soon as I can, but that may not be for a few days.  I deeply apologize for the delay.

Wow! Actual PROMOS!

I know we've been lazy about this the last few weeks, but we have some comments from the champions and challengers from this weekend's AWL 150 title matches.

Captian AWL: He nozu why I attaku himu. No comento!

El Rudo Rojo: Look man, I have no idea who this loco is, what his deal is, or what he thinks I've done to him and I don't [censored] care! This pendejo gets up in my business, he has an ass kicking coming his way. And I don't care if I have to "risk" my title to give it to him. At AWL 150, that rookie's gonna get put in his place!

Bullet Club:
Cody Hall: That idiot Yujiro [censored] up. Well guess what, he's GONE and good riddance to him! Little freak was holding me down anyway. Matt and that creepy rabbit may have slipped past me, but they're about to run right into the human brick wall Bad Luck Fale and Karl Anderson. Set your sights boys, you're headed for a fall! Score one for the bad guys!!

Matt Classic Jr.:

I must admit, this isn't what I expected for the first title match of my career. I always assumed it would be either a light heavyweight shot or teaming with one of my brothers in the New Classics. But it is what it is and I couldn't ask for a better partner. DB might be a bit weird, but he's one hell of a wrestler and he's taught me a lot. This weekend he's going to slam back his Monster and I'm going to unleash mine. It's time for a new generation of AWL Tag Team Champions!

Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

This very morning I had a long and...rather trying conversation with Hassan, Yamada Jiro, and American Beetle.

I can not tolerate AWL Wrestlers simply inventing their own championships just to prove a point. None of them are officially recognized as AWL Champions.....yet.

If they want their titles to be recognized, then so be it. And I have what I think will be an interesting method for determining our new champion:

1. Beginning at AWL 150, all three prospective champions will face of against a different AWL faction each week. Each victory earns that wrestler a point. This will continue for 4 weeks.

2. The wrestler with the lowest number of points will be stripped of his title and barred from ever using it again.

3. The remaining two wrestlers will face the other at AWL 160 and the winner will have his championship officially recognized by the Animated Wrestling League.

4. That Recognition Match (Yes, that is a good name for it) will be contested under a stipulation to be determined by the wrestler who has the most points in the Faction Gauntlet (Yes, another good name).

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!

Now if you will excuse me, I have many preparations to make before AWL 150. Good Day.

--XOXO AWL Commissioner.

3 Matches, 4 Champions

And I was right. The AWL Commissioner has announced the top matches for AWL 150. Two titles will be defended and there will be a clash...of champions!
AWL 150:
HAKAISHA! (AWL) vs. RAINMAKER Okada Kazuchika (NJPW)
Champion vs. Champion
Non-Title Match

Bullet Club (C) vs. Matt Classic Jr. & DOOMBUNNY (3)
AWL World Tag Team Title Match
1st Title Defense

El Rudo Rojo (C) vs. Captain AWL
AWL World Light Heavyweight Title Match
1st Title Defense
A loaded card and that's only the top half.

By the way, I have it on good authority that BOTH El Rudo Rojo and Captain AWL requested a match against each other and the AWL Commissioner agreed on the condition that the World's Light Heavyweight Championship be at stake.

Lastly, in other news, the AWL Commissioner has summoned American Beetle, Hassan, and Yamada Jiro (Not to mention Chronos Security) to his office for a conference first thing tomorrow morning. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for THAT conversation.

Holy Bleep!

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to reveal this or not, but I don't care! This is too big:
IWGP Heavyweight Champion “RAINMAKER" Okada Kazuchika
will wrestle at AWL 150!!
This is a HUGE get for the Animated Wrestling League and I have no idea how the Commissioner pulled it off. Okada will be the second IWGU Heavyweight Champion to compete in the AWL. The first, of course, being the man Okada beat for the title early this July. Okada is scheduled to make his first title defense in October against Styles.

I have no idea who the Rainmaker will wrestle, but I suspect we'll find out soon enough.

Commissioner's Weekly Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

I am a man of my word, even when I would much rather not be. Last week in what was (against my better judgement) a sanctioned match, "Big" Ben Nelson defeated #1 Contender Ma-Ji-Ku. The AWL Rule Book is QUITE clear on this. Not only was Ma-Ji-Ku reduced in rank, sigh, Ben Nelson has earned the right to compete in a Fight for 4. And he SHALL have that opportunity at AWL 149.

HOWEVER! I am under no obligation to give him the privilege of knowing whom he shall be wrestling.
For AWL 149:
Big" Ben Nelson vs. ????
Fight for 4

In far more pleasant news, I have received official requests from both American Beetle and Hassan requesting singles matches this week. The interesting part was that neither of them actually named their desired opponents. Now, if I was feeling like a sadistic man, I would make them wrestle each other. But since neither of them have been attacking people from behind like a certain British man I know, I'm going to give them each something interesting.

For Hassan, who has been trying to impress me all season, I give a challenge:
For AWL 149:
Hassan vs. Ganba
Fire to Forge the Gold
Ganba is one of the most decorated champions in AWL history and if Hassan can defeat him, I shall consider his request to recognize his championship.

For American Beetle, I give an easy night at the office:
For AWL 149:
American Beetle vs. Jon Shina
After putting up with that "typical American" balderdash last week, he deserves a virtual night off.

I appear to be on a roll this evening so I might as well go ahead and announce that the 6th and final match this week shall feature the NEW Animated Wrestling League World's Light Heavyweight Champion: El Rudo Rojo.

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

--XOXO AWL Commissioner.
