AWL Special: Clash of Styles Tournament 2018

Welcome back!

Greetings Wrestling Fans!

                Preparations for Season 13 of the Animated Wrestling League are almost complete.  However, I have a few news items that you, the AWL Fans, need to know before we continue.

                First, a medical update.  Regrettably, “Peacemaker” Luke James has not been medically cleared to compete for at least the first few weeks of the new season.  As you know (and if you don’t, the video is only a couple of posts down), Luke James received a severe neck injury following a sit out piledriver by Ganba Hiishi Dark at AWL 240.  He did not fully break his neck, but according to AWL Senior Medical Official Dr. Marcus Feelgood, a couple of centimeters either way and he would have.  As it stands, Luke James is expected to return to action some time this coming season.  I will let you know when we know more.

                Second, regarding the AWL Grand Championship.  Much to my regret, THUGLIFE Tanaka Kenichi IS the AWL Grand Champion.  After exhaustive consultation with our lawyers, it turns out that the terms of the Golden Opportunity are such that it doesn’t matter if the bearer is a member of the AWL Roster or not.  That means that Big Foot was the 13^th AWL Grand Champion and THUGLIFE Tanaka Kenichi is the 14^th AWL Grand Champion.

                Even worse, the AWL Commissioner was forced to offer Kenichi whatever he wanted in order to get him to sign a new AWL Contract.  Not only does that mean last season’s Batsumania Match is rendered moot, it make’s Tanaka Kenichi the highest paid wrestler in AWL History!!  The only silver lining is that we retain control of the AWL Grand Championship.

                Lastly, the AWL Commissioner has several special events planned for this season:

1. July 29^th: Off Season Special: Clash of Styles Tournament.

2. Aug 5^th: Season Premier.

3. Aug 12^th: AWL Chikara Special (The Show Not the Hold) Son of Sequel!

4. Aug 15^th: AWL Supercard: Obon-nanza 2018.

5. September date TBD: AWL Supercards: Tag Matsuri 2018!

6. Dec. 16^th: Season Finale.
