Puma's out.

Wrestling fans, I have some bad news to report. Prince Puma was found injured in the backstage area of the AWL Arena as he was packing to leave for LA to compete at the Lucha Underground Season Finale: Ultima Lucha. The Lucha Underground Champion has been rushed via Dario Cueto's private jet back to the United States for both medical treatment and to prepare for Ultima Lucha. We have the security camera footage and hope to bring that to you this weekend at AWL 144.

Unfortunately, that means that he will not be available to compete for the AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship this weekend. The AWL Commissioner is NOT happy about this and has had several telephone conversations with Mr. Cueto about this. But El Jefe is not budging. He want's to protect, not his wrestler, but his main event.

The AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship WILL be defended this weekend. The AWL Commissioner has called in some favors to toss together this #1 Contender's Match:
AWL 144:
El Santo Azul vs. El Rudo Rojo vs. A.J. Styles vs. The DOOMBUNNY
4-Way Light Heavyweight #1 Contender's Match
All 4 participants are former Light Heavyweight Champions and this match will be one fall to a finish.

This, wrestling fans, is why humans invented the phrase "Card Subject to Change."

Weekly Address/by the numbers.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner.

And it is my pleasure to confirm that which was reported to you yesterday. The next Animated Wrestling League Super Card shall take place on the 19th of August in the historic city of Kyoto and it is my further pleasure to announce the first three matches that shall take place on that show. I am enjoying the burgeoning faction rivalry here in the Animated Wrestling League, so at Obon-nanza 2015, we shall have a one night trios tournament featuring the 4 biggest factions in the Animated Wrestling League:
Obon-nanza 2015:
One Night Trios Tournament
1. AWL All Stars vs. The Augments

2. Bullet Club vs. The New Classics

3. Winners of Match 1 vs. Winners of Match 2
Now, let us discuss this weekend's AWL 144 Event. There are currently two title matches scheduled for this weekend:
AWL 144:
Main Event:
Tiger Mask II (C) vs. Prince Puma
AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship Match
1st Title Defense.

Semi-Final:
AWL All Stars (C) vs. The New Classics (4)
AWL World Tag Team Title Match
4th Title Defense

Before we continue, a little clarification. Both The New Classics and Big & Spicy have the requisite three points to challenge for the world tag team titles, but since The New Classics obtained their third point first, they have the top priority.

Speaking of rankings and such, I suppose this is an acceptable time to review the AWL Best 4 Rankings after the considerable shake up of last weekend:
AWL Best 4:
1. Ma-Ji-Ku
2. Ganba
3. Bad Luck Fale
4. TBD
And the number four contendership SHALL be determined this weekend in another faction vs. faction match:
AWL 144:
Matt Classic Jr. vs. "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs. Project
New Classics vs. Bullet Club vs. The Augments
Fight for 4
Since Ganba of The AWL All Stars is already in the Best 4 and both Dragon & Luke James are otherwise occupied defending the tag team titles, that faction is excluded from this match.

THIS! I have COMMISSIONED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

--XOXO AWL Commissioner.

HOLY BLEEP!!

HUGE NEWS AWL FANS!!
Because of the impressive upswing in viewers lately (Thanks for that by the way) and recent upgrdes by our friends at Daily Motion, the AWL has been informed that WE GET TO DO AN OVERRUN!!! Yes, you know how WWE RAW never ends at the top of the hour, well we get to do that too now! From here on out, should we reach the one hour mark in the middle of a match, we will be allowed to stay on the air until that match has concluded!

In equally huge news, the AWL Commissioner has announced the next AWL Super Card:
AWL Obon-nanza!
Wednesday, August 19th, 2015
Location: Kyoto!

That's right ladies and gentlemen, we are taking this show on the road!! We'll be packing up and leaving the AWL Arena for only the 4th time in our history and crossing the country to the ancient capital of Kyoto! No matches have been announced as of the writing, but hopefully we'll learn something during the AWL commissioner's weekly address tomorrow.

Pre title match promos

Ben Nelson: Tomorrow. Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow! I have to do it tomorrow. I've challenged for the World Title many times and . . . I've never even come close. I know I'm getting old. These chances don't come around every day. Bloody hell, they don't come around every SEASON! If I don't do this tomorrow. If I don't become the AWL World Heavyweight Champion tomorrow . . . . . I just don't know what happens next.

HAKAISHA! (Translated from Japanese): Ben Nelson. I understand. I understand our passion, your desire to be champion, and your fighting spirit. But I can not allow that to change anything. Tomorrow at AWL 143, I will bring you my best. I hope you will rise to the challenge. Let us have a great match. The AWL World's Heavyweight Championship deserves nothing less. Let us do this...The right way.

Weekly address. A VERY late weekly address.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL Commissioner. First of all, allow me to apologize for the lateness of my communication this week. I have spent most of the week in consultation with Dr. Mark Feelgood and the rest of the AWL Medical Team regarding the status of our new AWL World Light Heavyweight Champion Tiger Mask II.

While I profoundly wish I had better news, Tiger Mask II received severe injuries to both his shoulder as a direct result of the attack from Mil Muertes last weekend.

Unfortunatly, as a champion in the Animated Wrestling League, Tiger Mask II has responsibilities that he can not be allowed to shirk. Specifically, ny own decree that both singles championships be defended every other week. The next AWL World's Light Heavyweight Championship Match is scheduled to take place at AWL 144 on August the 2nd. Tiger Mask II has that long to becleared to wrestle or he will quite unfortunately be stripped of the championship.

Speaking of champions, while I was rather impressed by Hassan's victory over AJ Styles last week, I am not ready to recognize his title within the Animated Wrestling League. However, I AM ready and willing to reward him for his victory...By entering him into the AWL Best 4!

AWL Best 4:
1. Ben Nelson
2. Ma-Ji-Ku
3. Ganba
4. Hassan

Ben Nelson will have his opportunity to challenge HAKAISHA in less than 48 hours at AWL 143. And since said time is rapidly approaching, here is the complete card for this weekend's event:

Main Event
HAKAISHA (C) vs. "Big" Ben Nelson
AWL World's Heavyweight Championship Match
7th Title Defense

Bullet Club (0) vs. Big & Spicy (0)
20 Minute/3 Point Match

The New Classics (2) vs. Disciples of Death (0)
2 Point/15 Minute Match

Chiba Akagi vs. Prince Puma
Light Heavyweight #1 Contender's Match

Hassan (#4) vs. Bad Luck Fale

Rank on the Line

Shoot post

First of all, allow me to apologize for the lack of posts this week.  I've been working at a summer camp as part of my real life job.  As a result I haven't had the energy to do much more than come home, fall down, and fall asleep (Not necessarily in that order).  I should be able to get a "Commissioner's Weekly Address" tonight and this weekend's episode is already in the can and ready to upload.

In site news, AWLWrestling.blogspot.com has just passed the 10,000 view mark!!!  With the last 4 straight months clocking over 600+ hits!  I have no idea how many of these are real views and how many are robot BS sites like vampire stat but I choose to think that I'm popular.  Thank you to all of you.

AWL 142: El Santo Azul vs. Tiger Mask II 投稿者 AWLBoss

A Challenge from Hassan

Hey their AWL Fans! Hassan here, your WWE Intercontinental Champion. Last week I took the first step toward gettin my title recognized when I knocked Captain AWL back to the dojo. This week, I'm after bigger fish. I want you!

A.J. Styles!

You lose titles, I win titles. You lose matches, I win them. I'm not taking away from any of your accomplishments, but facts are facts. You re not a champion, I am. That makes me better than you and this weekend I plan to prove it.

There's a NEW phenom in the AWL and he's the Arab American Dream, Hassan!

So what to you say red neck? You ready to get a taste of New York? Or are you just gonna run back to your little club house like a scared little boy?

More matches

OK people, two more matches have been announced for this weekend's AWL 142 event. First of all, the matches we already knew about:
MAIN EVENT:
El Santo Azul (C) vs. Tiger Mask II
AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship Match
1st Title Defense

Bullet Club (0) vs. Big & Spicy (0)
2 Point/15 Minute Match

And now the new stuff:
The New Classics (2) vs. The Diciples of Death
Points in Play
As you read yesterday, Catrina has brought the Disciples of Death into the AWL. And it looks like they are wasting no time going after the biggest dogs in the tag team division. Or at least the only team currently with 2 points. The New Classics will have to face both death and the unknown.

Matt Classic Jr. vs. Chiba Agaki
Speaking of The New Classics, the rookie of the team will be in action against the Spirit of Submission. Two of the top graduates from the AWL Dojo will go one on one in what is sure to be an lightning fast athletic contest.

There's still room on the card so stay tuned tomorrow for more news and matches from the Animated Wrestling League.

Everything has its time.

Death comes for all men.....A thousand deaths are coming to the A...W...L. A door once opened can not be shut.....Mil Muertes has come to the A...W...L.....but he is not alone......He brings his disciples. First...the prince shall fall...then all you hold dear.....shall be destroyed.

Commissioner's Weekly Address

For the first time this season, I proudly present to you the AWL Commissioner's Weekly Address:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I am the AWL...Commissioner.
Our eight season has begun in ernest. Animated Wrestling League World's Heavyweight Champion HAKAISHA has successfully defended his championship against Bad Luck Fale and taken one step closer to AWL 160 and the Title Unification Match. Now it is time to turn our attentions to the AWL Light Heavyweight Division.

As I have said many times before, it is not expected that champions and top contenders will lose matches. Last weekend, the new Animated Wrestling League World's Light Heavyweight Champion El Santo Azul was pinned by Tiger Mask II in a tag team match. Therefore my job becomes quite simple:
El Santo Azul (C) vs. Tiger Mask II
AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship Match
1st Title Defense
With equal simplicity:
Bullet Club (0) vs. Big & Spicy (0)
2 Point/15 Minute Match
Of course, additional matches shall be revealed as the week progresses, but that will do for now.

--XOXO AWL Commissioner

3 matches announced!

As recounted on Wednesday, the AWL tag team division is in something of a point drought at the moment. Therefore the AWL Commissioner has announced 3 tag team matches for this weekend's AWL 141 event:

The New Classics (1) vs. The Augments (0)
I have it on good authority that the newest member of the Augments, Usagi Kick, will be one half of the duo representing Dr. Jigoku's mad experiments.  They face the only team booked this weekend with points currently on the board. Veterans vs rookies at AWL 141!

Los Neko Grande (0) vs. Masters of the Mask (0)
Just a few weeks before Ultima Lucha and his match with Mil Muertes, Lucha Underground Champion Prince Puma will step foot in the AWL Arena and, along with Tiger Mask II, face the best luchadores the AWL has to offer.  Ma-Ju-Ku & the NEW AWL World's Light Heavyweight Champion El Santo Azul.  With Mil Muertes on the horizon, Ouma will have to be looking over his shoulder the entire match.

Bullet Club (0) vs. Big & Spicy (0)
This could prove the strangest match of the evening. Notice the zero next to Bullet Club?  Since Bad Luck Fale is busy challenging for the world title this weekend, Bullet Club will be represented by Yujiro and their Young Boy Cody Hall.

6 teams including 2 we've never seen before will have the chance to battle for up to 3 total points.  The AWL Tag Team Division just got a LOT more interesting.

HUGE NEWS!!

HUGE NEWS! First, the main event of AWL 141 has been announced:
HAKAISHA! (C) vs. Bad Luck Fale (#1)
AWL World Heavyweight Championship Match
6th Title Defense

Hey, I said huge, I didn't say surprising. But this next part is both huge and surprising:

The AWL Commissioner will address the AWL Fans and the AWL Roster PERSONALLY at AWL 141!

I can't remember the last time the AWL Commissioner actually appeared on camera, I think it might have been as far back as Season 1! But now we know that he WILL appear at AWL 141!! I have no idea what he's going to say, but it must be something big if the AWL Commissioner feels he must deliver the message in person.
