Preview of Golden War 2015!

Sorry for the delay in this week's blog posts ladies and gents. But we wanted to make sure everything was on the up and up before we made any announcements. This Sunday is the next AWL Super Card: Golden War 2015! All the titles are up for grabs including, for the first time ever, outside championships! Both the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the Lucha Underground Championship will be defended in an AWL ring. The only non-title match will be the Light Heavyweight Battle Royal to determine who challenges (ugh!) Super Giant later that very night. Without further ado, here is the card with a few new vital details:

AWL Super Card:
Golden War 2015!

Main Event:
HAKAISHA! (C) vs. Tiger Mask II (#1)
AWL World Heavyweight Championship Match
3rd Title Defense

AWL All Stars (C) vs. Crisis Gundan (3)
AWL World Tag Team Championship Match
3rd Title Defense
After successfully retaining their titles last week, we now know that Dragon & Luke James will have to make AWL history and defend their championships twice in as many weeks. They face former champions and cheating bas***ds Crisis Gundan. Speaking of whom...
Super Giant (C) vs. TBD
AWL World Light Heavyweight Championship Match
1st Title Defense
Super Giant will have to wrestle twice in one evening. We here at the AWL try to avoid this, but that's what you get when you want to fight for more than one title at a time. We will likely place both the Tag Title Match and the Battle Royal early in the show to give both champion and challenger the chance to rest and recuperate before this match.

AJ Styles (C) vs. "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush
IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match
New Japan Rules
A WHOLE lot of negotiation had to happen for this match to be signed. One of the stipulations laid down by NJPW was that the match had to be contested under their rule system. That means a whopping 60 minute time limit and a 20 count on the outside of the ring. Additionally, the rest of Bullet Club is barred from the building. Lastly, the Mike Quackenbush that will compete in this match is a version of The Master of 1000 Holds that was pulled out of an earlier point in his own timeline (it's Chikara, that kind of stuff happens) before his nagging injuries forced him to retire from in-ring competition. The modern day version of the DOF will likely have no memories of this experience.

Prince Puma (C) vs. Ma-Ji-Ku
Lucha Underground Championship Match
2 out of 3 Falls
After successfully defending his Lucha Underground Title less than 24 hours ago in The Temple (By the way Drago, if you're looking for a job...), Prince Puma has to get on a plane and fly halfway around the world to defend it yet again. Such is the life of a champion. Dario Cueto agreed to this match to get more publicity for his Temple and Konnan agreed to this match because he knows that it's a good idea for a young luchador to travel the world perfecting his craft. Furthermore, out of respect for Lucha Libre tradition, Konnan has demanded that this be a 2 out of 3 falls match. The AWL Commissioner was quick to agree. Dario insisted that the AWL Commissioner find some "worthy competition for my champion." Again, the boss was all too happy to comply. Prince Puma will face the top luchador in the AWL, the man who held the Light Heavyweight Title for more than 600 days, Ma-Ji-Ku.

DOOMBUNNY vs. Strike Taka vs. El Santo Azul vs. El Rudo Rojo
Light Heavyweight #1 Contender's Battle Royal
A lot going on in this match. First of all, there are no automatic rematches in the AWL. So even though DOOMBUNNY got screwed out of the title, he still has to earn a title shot. Strike Taka has long been Dr. Jigoku's least favorite of his Augments. Golden War 2015 is a chance for the long limbed luchador to prove himself to his creator. And as for El Santo Azul and El Rudo Rojo, the brothers have recently come to blows yet again. Now they get a chance to do so again...and get paid for it this time!

All the action takes place at AWL Super Card: Golden War 2015. Be there...or have a damn good excuse why you weren't!
