AWL Wrestler Profile: Bruce Hoyt

“Boxing Bastard” Bruce Hoyt
              From: Dallas, TX.
              Record: 12-12
              Finisher: One Punch Knockout
              Affiliation: N.R.E./The Best (Former)
              Style: Boxing
              Championships: Light Heavyweight Title x1
A former professional boxer, he was considered a future title contender in the WBC and WBA.  Unfortunately, that dream came to a crashing halt when Hoyt’s temper kept getting the best of him during his matches.  Eventually, he couldn’t get booked anywhere because nobody wanted to fight him due to his unsportsmanlike conduct.  With nothing else to fall back on, he went into professional wrestling where the AWL Commissioner quickly saw his potential and signed him to a contract.
The Commissioner’s faith proved well placed as Hoyt eventually rose to the top of his division as AWL Light Heavyweight Champion.  Unfortunately, he would make his biggest impact on the AWL by LOSING that title to the man who has held it ever since, Ma-Ji-Ku.

Since his defeat, he has not only challenged for the Light Heavyweight Title multiple times (each attempt a failure) but has branched out into the tag team division.  First, he fought as part of “The Best” with Rick Flare and now as a member of the N.R.E.  He has never held the AWL World Tag Team Titles.
