Much of the focus of Golden War 2017 has been on the Kyuukyoku
Summit (and understandably so considering the unprecedented nature of 8
champions competing in one tournament), but it’s important to remember that there
will be other matches on this show (that’s what makes it a Super Card after all) so today I’m here to confirm that there will
be two championships defended during Golden Week:
The Empire (C) vs. The Menagerie (3)
AWL World Tag Team Championship Match
1st Title Defense
Tiger Mask II (C) vs. Sylverhawk
AWL Intercontinental Championship Match
4th Title Defense
For those who have not been following the AWL or the
wider world in independent wrestling, the Space Monkey lost his Chikara Young Lion’s Cup over Wrestlemania weekend to Wani
but this in no way revokes his invitation to compete in the AWL and Sylverhawk
pinned Tiger Mask II in a tag team match several weeks ago to earn an IC title
shot.
